	GEKTAR The Outer Bohemian captain of the King's Guard. He is handsome, muscular, a skilled fighter, and denser than lead.
	HEINRICH ( Jean-Jean Lejean) Personal slave to Gektar. He has a depressed and defeated outlook on life, but naively tries to do the right thing.
	PIERRE LEBLANC Courtier in the court of King Charles. An ambitious man, he has his sights set on control of the kingdom and personal revenge.
	CELESTE D'ARGENT Courtier in the court of King Charles. She holds tremendous power over the lesser members of court through blackmail and moneylending.

	KING CHARLES VI Once known as "the well-beloved" he is now known aptly as "the mad". His sanity fluctuates, yet somehow the kingdom survives.
	JESTER (& CHANCELLOR) Fool to King Charles VI and voice of Chancellor 'Fluffles'. Highly educated and over-qualified, he spends a lot of time drinking.
	QUEEN ISABEAU The lustful wife to king Charles, this teutonic beauty is known for her twisted sexual appetites and tendency towards violence.
	MARIE-CLAIRE Handmaiden to the queen. Kind, friendly, and a loyal servant to her mistress. She is the object of Heinrich's secret affection.

	MAURICE Member of the guard. Short and stocky, with a gruff personality and kind heart.
	FRANCOISE Member of the guard. Tall and slender. He has a more refined personality, but is never far from the company of his short companion.
	GUY LE COURTIER A waifish man with a peculiar style of speech. Often manages to get in the way of Gektar and whatever path the Bohemian might take.
	SERGEANT ABSOLOM A treacherous member of the castle guard with ambitious dreams of power and success under the banner of Pierre Leblanc.

	PRINCESS ISABELLE The twice married 12-year old daughter of the royal couple. Demanding, pushy, and with no concept of empathy.
	"PAUNCH" Loyal minion of Lord Pierre. A commoner from Bruges with claims of arcane talent.
	DUKE D'ORLEANS The ribald younger brother to King Charles. Famous for his popularity with the ladies, including the rumoured daliances between him and his brother's wife.
